About Me
Hello! My name is Becky Johnston, and I’m currently in my fifth year at Northeastern University, where I’m pursuing a Bachelors and Masters of Science in Mechanical Engineering, with a minor in Physics. I'll be graduating in May, and am looking for full-time employment.
I've completed three co-ops, working with optical components for telescopes at Lexitek, glider-type AUVs at Hefring Engineering, and atmospheric water extraction for DARPA at Honeywell Aerospace. I've been a part of AerospaceNU, the aerospace engineering club on campus, since fall of 2018, including a year as the club's Lab Manager and a semester as President.
I was drawn to mechanical engineering because I like learning how and why things happen, and then applying that knowledge in a hands-on setting. I want to know more things about the world and use that understanding to make it a little bit better. The most important thing I’ve learned so far is that there is always more to discover.
I build rockets with most of my free time and spend what’s left drawing or baking. I smile a lot.
